Buman Family Vacation - Park City, Utah

We drove to Park City, Utah to meet up with Matt's family for a week. On the way we stopped to explore Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. What beautiful places!! It was an adventure with many memories.

Kids wanted their picture taken with this sherriff outside the Subway where we had dinner. That night we slept in a motel in Panguich (the middle of no where) so we could get up the next morning and explore Bryce Canyon. I didn't get much sleep because I was sleeping with Rylie who rolled around all over the place and literally kicked me off the bed. It was hilarious to see someone so little take over the entire bed. Matt ended up sleeping perpendicular to her at the foot of the bed so he wouldn't get kicked.

Bryce Canyons was my favorite of the 2 parks we visited. I thought the hudoos were very cool.
 Celebrated Father's Day exploring Bryce!
It was very windy and we did a 3 mile hike. We were at about 8,000 feet elevation and I didn't realize that until I kept giving Derek a hard time about breathing funny and lagging behind in the hike. Ooops...sorry dude...once I realized the elevation (and stopped pushing Derek to hurry it up) we took our time and had more fun hiking.

Unloading all of our stuff
LOVING the very large hotel room. Rylie slept in the king bed by herself...she was like a princess!
Swimming for 2 - 3 hours a day with cousins was so much fun! Rylie became such a confident swimmer and was swimming without needing our help. :)

Rylie chatting with Aunt Julie

Riding ski lift for 15 minutes to the top of the mountain and taking the alpine slides down.
Hiking PC Mountain and stopping in downtown Park City for ice cream at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Later that evening having dinner at a brew pub.

Lagoon Amusement Park
The kids were so excited to ride rides at Lagoon. Derek was smiles all day long and was tall enough to ride some of the roller coasters. He rode just about all he could ride including the swings, Dino Drop and the wooden roller coaster. Next time he wants to do the pirate ship. He did not want to do the roller coaster with the loops just yet.

After riding rides all day long Grandpa bought the kids all slushies...13 to be exact and the machine ended up breaking.
Crafts with Grandma
Ping Pong with Daddy

Matt rented Derek a mountain bike and took him biking along a gorgeous trail along the mountains. Derek had a great time. He learned how to shift gears when going up or down hill.

I also got to bike with Derek. We biked for 2 hours. It was the day after Derek lost his 2nd tooth. We couldn't find the tooth at all!!

Celebrating June birthdays - Derek, Valeri, Steve, Melanie, Ian, Sam

There was LOTS of time to play with cousins

Dinner in the back of the resort at the Mine. Derek loved playing corn hole

Roasting marshmallows on the last night!

Visiting with Great Grandma D

Stopping to show Derek and Rylie where the Utes play football
On our last day in Utah we went to Miller Motor Speedway to watch the motorcycle races. Our friend DJ is a mechanic for a team and he got us tickets and passes to watch the races. The riders can reach speeds up to 180-200mph. WOW. It was very fast and very fun to watch.

Checking out the start line with Daddy
This bike looks good on him!
Seeing where our friend DJ works and what he does to fix the motorcycles
 Getting the rider's autographs
Watching the motorcycle races from the grandstands. It was hot, but the kids did awesome.
Derek loved watching the races with his cousins Colin and Ian.

We drove the 11.5 hours home in one day and it was good to be home, but we can't wait until the next Buman family vacation.
