Valentine's Day

This year for Valentine's Day Matt and I decided to write attributes that we want to affirm about Derek and Rylie on hearts and tape them to their bedroom door. One heart per day and Matt and I took turns writing them. It was so fun to watch the kids get up each morning and race to their door, find their new heart and ask us to read it (along with all their other hearts too).

For dinner on Valentine's Day we ate heart shaped pancakes. Derek received a NASA space shuttle with programmable code and Rylie received a stuffed animal puppy dog as Valentine's Day presents. Matt and the kids bought me gorgeous red roses! And my good friend Sarah surprised me by bringing over a tub of frozen GF chocolate chip cookie dough! It was a great day!

Prepping valentine's to give to his preschool friends. I was so proud of Derek as he wrote the first letter of his name on all 16 valentine's for his preschool friends!

Padres Spring Training

We had a great time at Rylie's first Padres spring training game. Rylie did not sit still very long and spent most of the game running up and down the grassy hill (which was fine because everyone thought she was the most adorable little girl). Derek sat with Matt for a good portion of the game watching, but it was distracting to have Rylie running around and ended up wanting to run with her. I am sure next year Matt and I will get to watch more than a few pitches...LOL. Rylie also skipped her nap for the first time and did amazing. She was so busy running around that she never got cranky or showed that she was tired until we got home from the game.
On the way to the game....can't decide which smile I LOVE best! This was Rylie's first spring training game. In this picture she is wearing Derek's first ever hat (which he loved so much and would wear it everywhere and sleep with it on). I think it looks so cute on her.

Phoenix Marathon & Kids 1K

Matt ran the Phoenix Marathon. He did an awesome job and we are so proud of him. The kids and I missed seeing him cross the finish line and he actually ended up meeting us at our car as we parked. Derek was super excited to run the Kid's 1K. Since Matt wanted to run it with us we jumped into the 1K halfway through. Derek had a BLAST. I LOVE his face in this picture. He is so focused and ran with his whole heart. I can't wait for one day when we will all run a race as a family. After completing his race, he got a ribbon, t-shirt and food (squeeze pouch and bananas). Since it was the end of the day he got a whole half dozen bagels, which he thought was so cool.

February Preschool Pics

Pony Day at preschool - Derek didn't want to go for a ride, but he enjoyed petting the pony, getting "dressed up" and sitting on the pony for a picture!
