Rylie 20 & 21 Months

Time continues to fly by and our Rylie Girl is 21 months old. It is hard to believe! This month we reflected on the fact that Derek was this old when Rylie was born and already sleeping in a big boy bed! Our hearts are so full with love for our Rylie Girl. She is such a joy! We are so grateful God gave us the opportunity to be her parents. When asked what her name is she usually replies, "Rylie Girl!" :) She is so thoughtful, always making sure to share with Derek and others. Rylie is always giving us kisses and hugs and the conversations we have with her are amazing. She loves to be tickled and to run and jump into our arms. Rylie is one tough cookie. We often find her and wrestling with Derek and the both of them giggling. Derek and Rylie play together so well and Matt and I have been enjoying a few breaks here and there and just watching them play. Her sweet little voice makes us smile. Rylie has an amazing memory for people and music. After spending time with someone once Rylie will ask questions at a later point in time about that person. She also can hear a song a couple of times and sing it back to you. People are constantly asking me how old Rylie is (and then amazed when they find out her age) because she communicates so well and her verbal skills are very advanced. This fall Rylie took a music class (which she LOVED) and is now taking gymnastics. Rylie still LOVES her Gracie's and is seen often with one under each arm!! At bedtime, after reading to her I sing to her...she puts her head on my shoulder, one Gracie under each arm and sings right along with me. She always requests "Jesus Loves Me" first and then "My God is So Big" second. Rylie is Miss Independent...she usually says, "Mommy, I do it by myself." I just want to pause time...I LOVE her so much and am so grateful that I have the privilege of raising a boy and a girl. :)

 Rylie LOVES Minnie Mouse
So proud of herself for moving the tricycle all by herself!
One day this month, she was teething and fell asleep on my chest! What a special time cuddling with my girl...I enjoyed every minute of it.

Rylie loves to make this silly face where she furrows her brow and looks down, pretending she is mad...and then immediately laughs and breaks into a smile. She often makes this silly face at the dinner table.  Its hilarious.

Rylie LOVES to wear Derek's underwear...especially after a bath she runs down the hallway naked (just like Derek used to do) and gets several pairs of his underwear from his dresser and proceeds to put them on. Many nights she asks to sleep with them on!
