Eat Street

We went to Eat Street one night for dinner. The restaurants are all made out of old shipping containers. It is super unique. We went with Ing-Mari and Kristina. It was a lot of fun and overwhelming at the same time with all the food options. I was amazed at all the GF options. Australia really does GF food well, even better than the US. They had entertainment as well. The kids were able to watch a very entertaining performance from a guy who juggle flaming swords.

"Fairy Floss" is what Australians call cotton candy.

Dessert was nutella and oreo cookie soft serve ice cream

 I got chocolate covered strawberries!

Sunset along Brisbane River at Bron & Tony's

A little ways down the river Matt's colleague from UQ lives. Bronwyn and Tony invited to their house which overlooks the river for drinks and appetizers as the sun sets. It was a great night chatting with them and watching the sunset. Afterwards we walked the short distance back to our apartment. I LOVE all the walking.

VW Van Coffee & Bronte's School Fete

Breakfast in bed!! I want to REMEMBER forever these days together as a family in Australia!
We walked to Davies Market for cofffee from this VW van. It was so good.
How cool to have such a unique coffee shop at the market.

Later on we went to a Fete (or carnival) at Bronte's school.
Gen did the face painting so we stopped off their first and the kids had a great time.
Then we bought some tickets and rode some of the rides.
I think it was the first time the kids have ridden carnival rides.

It was also Bronte's birthday. Happy birthday Bronte!

University of Queensland St. Lucia Campus & Bron's house for sunset

We visited University of Queensland St. Lucia campus one afternoon.
It is a beautiful campus with sand stone buildings and archways. We took the City Cat to get there and the kids brought their scooters to scoot around the campus. Matt met with a colleague. When Matt was done with the meeting with we stopped at the bookstore.
I bought a UQ sweatshirt and Matt bought a UQ Keepcup.

While Matt met with a colleague on campus we ate lunch in the quad and read the 39 Clues.

On the way home we got off the City Cat in the West End and biked along the river to our apartment.

Later that night we went to Bron and Tony's house for drinks, apps, and the sunset. They live a 5 min walk from our apartment along the river.
