March Shenanigans (Derek 3 yr 9 mos & Rylie 2 yrs)

It is getting harder and harder to keep up with all that goes on these days in our house! When it was just Derek I used to post monthly (until he turned 3) with a set of pictures and an update, but that is proving to be much more challenging now that there are 2 kids. Rylie has individual posts up to 2 years and I from now on I am going do monthly posts or various event posts. Here are a bunch of things that happened during the month of March!
Coloring together with new easel Rylie got for her 2nd birthday from Auntie Katie, Uncle Patrick and Max
Playing baseball - Derek is getting good at pitching to me too!

 Helping Daddy "work"
 Twirling

 Potty time
 New jammies
Rylie Burrito! "Burrito!" Always requested by both kids when getting out of the bath!
helping Daddy "fix" Rylie's bike
 "Biking back-and-forth" a favorite activity
Rylie is getting the hang of the Strider! She finally got that "rush" that comes with gliding down the hill. Her face lit up and I could tell she was hooked on riding!!

Found Rylie like this! She is a climber with no fear!
Dunkin Donut breakfast date with my favorite people! (in their jammies)
 Getting the mail!

Rylie missed her nap because of doctor appointment and fell asleep on my shoulder!
Sweet Mommy moments. :)
Derek cleared his own dishes and washed them all on his own without even being asked!!
Such a great helper.

Biking home while Daddy runs after his T-ball game, a Saturday tradition.
Rylie loves her rain boots and Gracie, of course!
Lunch date with Daddy after a visit to the Children's Museum!
Morning game of Uno! Rylie rocks the bedhead!! Finally got a detangler for her hair!!
First field trip (during spring break with some preschool friends) to Peter Piper Pizza. Learned how pizza was made and got to make own personal pizza and then play before the restaurant opened!!
 Putting pizzas in the oven!
 Monday morning commute!
Hiking Dreamy Draw when Grammy visited! Rylie walked the whole way (almost 1.5 miles)!
 Cheese!
Picking up balloons for Rylie's birthday party!!
Rylie LOVES to look through all my blog books and each kid's first year book! I am so glad. Its so fun to look at pictures when the kids were so young!
Enjoying free Italian Ice with Grammy!
Early morning date hike with Matt at Piestewa. So much fun!!!

Derek (3 yrs 8 mos)

Derek LOVES play dates with Zack
Derek asked if he could play with his fire truck in my lap. So sweet.

Fun in the Rain!

We don't get much rain here, but when we do it is so much fun to play outside! The kids had a super afternoon watching the clouds, experiencing the wind, and using an umbrella! Love how these pictures captured Derek and Rylie's personality so well.

Sweet Siblings (March)

Each month I see more and more sweet sibling moments that I want to capture. It so fun to watch Derek and Rylie playing with each other when they don't know I am watching. Derek and Rylie love to play with one another and have such sweet conversations. They are always thinking about the other one. It melts my heart to watch them grow being such good friends.
making cappuccinos with Mommy, putting on Rylie's necklaces

reading to each other
playing spray tag (a game Derek made up and Rylie ends up getting soaked everytime!)
riding the train at the train park!
running and biking along the canal...Rylie is happiest when she is running with me while Derek bikes...she does not enjoy the stroller much
watching planes take off and land
 pushing Rylie on the swing
watching the iPad together, playing with the marble run, going for a run/bike ride

Rylie's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Rylie's birthday party at one of our favorite parks, the Police Park! It was such a perfect location. The kids had a great time playing. Then we sang happy birthday to Rylie Girl, ate cupcakes (purple and pink of course), opened presents and then the kids played again. Rylie had a great time. She LOVED having all her friends sing happy birthday to her and couldn't WAIT to take a bite of her purple cupcake. Rylie passed out herparty favors of purple and pink necklaces and purple and pink homemade candy (Great Aunt Flo Flo style). She excitedly told each friend "Thank you for coming to my party." It was an amazing day!! It was also special to have Grammy was there to celebrate with us. Happy 2nd birthday Rylie Girl! We LOVE you!
