27 Weeks Pregnant

This pregnancy continues to feel like it is flying by. I had fully intended to take a belly picture at 24 weeks (so I would at least have a picture every month), but that came and went. So here I am at 27 weeks and I finally remembered to have Matt take a picture of me. It is so fun to compare my belly shots with Derek and Baby Girl Buman. I am definitely MUCH bigger this time around. Thankfully, I am feeling great and still have energy to chase Derek around! This girl is super active and moving ALL the time. I love feeling her move!! No new cravings (still just In 'N Out Burger!) and grateful to be able to stay home with Derek. I am soaking in all my time with my little boy!!

27 weeks pregnant with Derek

18 Months old
I can hardly believe that Derek is 18 months old. It seemed like just yesterday he turned 1. It feels like such a milestone. We are so blessed by this little guy's smiles, laugh and constant curiosity with life!! Derek keeps learning so many new words each day. At his 18 month well check Derek weighed in at 27 lbs (62%) and is 34 1/4" tall (94%).

Recently Derek has been obsessed with the moon (thanks to Grammy). He looks for it all the time and then wants you to sing this certain song about the moon, which Grammy taught him. It is quite funny how excited he gets when you sing it.

It has been so fun watch Derek get so excited about Christmas. He love to see the lights on the Christmas tree, the lights on our house and cactus, the Christmas train that my grandmother made and play with the manger.

This month Derek helped me make chocolate chip pumpkin bread for our neighbors and friends and Matt's co-workers. He had fun sampling the chocolate chips and the finished product.

Derek LOVES to hide in my closet among my shirts. He will sit there and suck his thumb while stroking my shirts. Its is quite cute. Sometimes when we are trying to give him a bath he will run into the closet and hide. He LOVES it when we try to find him. He also LOVES to pull my shirts off the hangers and carry them around the house. Its adorable.

This month Derek started swim lessons at Hubbard Family Swim School. Each week Derek practices and improve on important water skills such as holding his breath and going underwater, climbing out of the pool, floating on his back, reaching and swimming to the wall, and jumping off the wall. The class size is small (2 other kids) and the kids are 2 years old so its great for Derek to see what the big kids do. His favorite part of swimming is going down the big frog slide and going completely under the water. He is catching on and getting very comfortable with swimming so quickly. I only have a few months where I can take him to swim lessons before the baby is born and I want to take advantage of the time with him.
Derek loves to crawl in and out of the coupe and play with it sideways.

Visit from Aunt Ruthie and Rosalie
Aunt Ruthie and Rosalie took a drive from San Diego to visit family in a few nearby states. On the way home they stopped at our house and stayed a couple nights. It was fun to have them stay with us and Derek LOVED playing with them.

In trying to take a group picture using the timer, Derek thought it was hilarious to watch me push the timer and run to get in the picture.
